Calm Before The Storm

Hello Deviant peoples!
Welcome to my page. :) I am a traditional artist and a writer of fiction and poetry. I draw my two wolf characters, Zuki and Tantou, most of the time (oh, how cliche these days XD ), but I can also draw birds and dragons. I'm working on adding more variety subject-wise so be on the lookout for more horses, humans, deer, etc.
Don't be afraid to ask if you'd like to do a trade or collab with me (be aware that I don't have a whole lot of time because of school art assignments, but I will try!). I don't do commish's yet.

Emotions and Auras

Wed Nov 11, 2009, 5:25 PM
  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: Odenall Pi by E.S. Posthumus
  • Reading: Emperor Mage - Tamora Pierce
  • Watching: What Happens in Vegas
  • Playing: Dragon Age: Origins <--want!
  • Eating: Candy
  • Drinking: Water
I was just thining about how boring life would be if we had the same emotion all the time.
Like, everyone's goal is to be happy, right?
But being happy all the time gets boring, doesn't it?
Being sad, angry, in love, or confused just makes life all the more interesting.
I like emotions because they add spice to life.
I know I wouldn't want to be content ALL the time.
There would be nothing to fuel my creativity.
People create out of their emotions.
Strong emotions are what causes a spark to light that creative fire.
People usually remember the bad times the most, and their brains will write over the good times, because the brain doesn't put emphasis on them. "Everything is good, my life is not threatened, so I don't need to remember this in the future."
Having angry or sad feelings can actually help you.
It can give you inspiration.
it can give you memories to draw experiance from for the future.
So the next time you're lying around mulling about how your little brother is such a jerk sometimes, don't take it as being so bad.
Sometimes it's good to have a break from a "perfect" life.
perpetual-contentment is boring!

with love,
-Lex

ALSO, to all who are interested, I took this Aura-color test yesterday and it seems pretty legit.
Your aura is an electromagnetic feild that can extend up to 5 feet around your body.
It can change colors, but many believe that each person has a "core" color (the color appearing closest to your body) that stays the same.
Scientists have developed a specially-designed camera that can actually take pictures of your aura. (Example here; [link] )
Each color represents a specific energy vibration, and is associated with different attributes of a person's personality, or even alert one to the presence of a spirit guide.
In other words, your aura can tell A LOT about you.

Animals have auras too. According to Pamala Oslie (the auther of he website and test), a silver-blue aura means that an animal believes he or she is an animal; and a golden-yellow aura means that animal believes he or she is a person.

The results of this aura test obviously aren't going to necessarily be 100% acurate, because it's not an acutal picture. it's based strictly on personality. But I assume it will give you a good general idea of your color(s).

I got an even 11/12 for the colors Crystal, Blue, Lavender, and Purple. and a 10/12 for Indigo.

The test is pretty long, but take it if you're interested. It's free: [link]

Once you get an answer, you can learn about the meanings of your color(s) here: [link]

...and feel free to tell me what color you have the most tallys for!
I love to hear about this kind of stuff.
Enjoy~!

Making art isn't just doing things by hand, it's doing things by heart! Art should have soul!

THIS IS WHO I AM:
...and I'm damn proud of it.

Hi! I'm a hard-to-understand, addicted-to-self-expression, constantly-daydreaming, half-hyper, half-calm, trinket-hoarding, weirdo!

...and for those who care...
~I am a spiritual person, but not very religious.
~My favorite types of music are Celtic, Irish, Pagan, and Country
~I am a Scorpio
~I have the strange habit of collecting things I find from nature. Like, it's almost obsessive.
~Said collections mostly contain bones, crystals, nuts, leaves, shed lizard skin, fossils, antlers, and feathers.
~I LOVE BONES.
~I love my friends, but don't like people in general. Especially crowds or when I have to face many people I am unfamiliar with at once.
~I am very close to nature.
~You're just jealous, because the voices only talk to ME
~Daydreaming takes up a signifigant amount of my time
~Writing is my second passion (to art)
~Ravens are epic. period.
~I've always thought about keeping a dream journal, but never get around to actually writing them down before I forget them
~I am addicted to music...I get grumpy if I go too long without it (a day or two at most)
~Ghosts, crystal healing, and aura are 100% real
~I strongly believe in meditating and taking time to reflect on life
~Holistic health, sociology, and psychology are very interesting to me
~I have a horrid memory. I'm sorry if I forget about your existence every so-often. ^^'
~What? Of course I talk to myself!
~It doesn't matter what you think of me, if you dislike what I like, your sexuality, or whether you're male or female. I like people for their personality.

...and yes, I still support Sasuke.:)

Who are my totems?
-Parrot
-Badger
-Wolf
-Hare
...and there you go.

~Okay so U can callz meh Lex!~

::I Like::
Drawing, writing, reading, dreams, self-expression, listening to music constantly, the feeling of unity, climbing trees, necklaces, walks, nature, flowers, animals, psychology, the paranormal, really ancient history, Native American/Celtic/Medieval stuff, the grace and balance of cats, bumblebees, friends, family, movies, the elements, when people's eyes twitch in cartoons (it's just that amusing), the breeze on a hot summmer day, Coffee shops, finding solutions to problems, fireflys, singing, being crazy, finding new possibilities, bones, teeth, claws, beads, thunder storms, spirits (as in ghosts), love, the enviroment, feeling safe, the smell of the different seasons, honeysuckles, and right after it rains, fresh air, old stone houses, farms, Ren and Celtic festivals, crystals, sunny days, daydreaming, four-leaf clovers, dragons, working on L.O.C, going to the book store, going berry picking, feathers, enjoying the small things in life but still dreaming big, creating, finding inspiration in the oddest places...and Mo (ya happy now?).

::I Dislike::
Animal abuse, speaking in front of an audience, conflict, politics, feeling lonely, board games (Honestly, I think they're a completley pointless waste of time), people who are full of themselves, IBS, math, stress, when deer run in front of your car, being depressed, people who think humans are the only important living creatures, when people take their babies to the movies (Get a babysitter or don't go!), useless arguments, characters in books who do nothing but whine and bitch about everything.

"You will turn over many a futile new leaf till you learn we must all write on scratched-out pages."

"You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him."

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

"I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.... People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back."

"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra."

I wish I had a stethoscope so I could listen to your heart

"If the Earth were only a few feet in diameter, floating a few feet above a field somewhere, people would come from everywhere to marvel at it. People would walk around it,
marveling at its big pools of water, its little pools and the water flowing between the pools. People would marvel at the bumps on it, and the holes in it, and they would marvel at the very thin layer of gas surrounding it and the water suspended in the gas. The people would marvel at all the creatures walking around the surface of the ball, and
at the creatures in the water. The people would declare it precious because it was the only one, and they would protect it so that it would not be hurt. The ball would be the
greatest wonder known, and people would come to behold
it, to be healed, to gain knowledge, to know beauty and to wonder how it could be. People would love it, and defend it with their lives, because they would somehow know that their lives, their own roundness, could be nothing without it. If the Earth were only a few feet in diameter."

~Author unknown.

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee;
and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee;
and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
~Job 12: 7-8

If you talk to the animals
they will talk with you
and you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them
you will not know them,
and what you do not know
you will fear.
What one fears
one destroys.

They are very focused on accomplishing goals that are important to them.

"Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say."

"In Celtic Spiritual tradition, it is believed that the soul radiates all about the physical body what some refer to as an aura. When you connect with another person and become completely open and trusting with that individual, your two souls begin to flow together.Should such a deep bond be formed, it is said you have found your Anam Cara or soul friend. Your Anam Cara always accepts you as you truly are, holding you in beauty and light. The Anam Cara was originally someone to whom you confessed, revealing the hidden intimacies of your life. With the Anam Cara, you could share your innermost self, your mind and your heart."

Two Wolves Inside Us All:
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'

"Practical life teaches us that people may differ and that both may be wrong: it also teaches us that people may differ and both be right. Anchor yourself fast in the latter faith, or the former will sweep your heart away."

"Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted."

"Dare to be imperfect and one day there will tug at your sleeve a soulmate."

"In the hopes of reaching the moon men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet."

"It's better to fight for something than against something."

Know who you are, and reconnect with your soul.
be kind to the enviroment, be kind to others, live life to the fullest, and keep your energies balanced.

Remember that you as an individual are powerful, and can make a difference in the world~!!!
